07:30 – 08:30 Calm Abiding Meditation
Silent meditation meeting. Together, we shall practice ‘Shamatha’ (Calm Abiding) meditation. Please feel free to drop in and out if you can’t attend the whole meditation.
10:00 – 10:45 Chenrezig Practice
The Chenrezig Practice is the most widely practised Tibetan Buddhist meditation which involves recitation, a visualisation and mantras. It is designed to stabilise the mind in compassion.
We will be doing this practice together in Tibetan with English translation. It involves a simple visualisation, reading the text together and reciting the mantra “Om Mani Padme Hum”. Through doing this practice, we invoke love and compassion for all sentient beings in the form of Chenrezig, a symbol of the compassion of all Buddhas.
All are welcome, no previous experience or knowledge of Buddhism required.
11:00 – 12:00 Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga
We will practise some simple bodywork for health, vitality, relaxation and well-being. Suitable for all abilities and experience levels. We will bear in mind the rest of the day’s programme, so this hour can complement sitting practice etc. Everything will be guided so just come along in loose comfortable clothing and with somewhere to sit and lie down comfortably, to hand. A little more detail about Kum Nye can be found at: https://sites.google.com/site/acupuncturekumnyeyoga/kum-nye
