In 2018, the Bodhicharya Summer Camp will again be held in Portugal.

The chosen place is a Christian retreat house, in the North of Portugal. The facilities are excellent, with single and double rooms with twin beds. Vegetables and fruit are grown by the community itself and taste absolutely delicious.

There is a river, at a short walking distance away, where one can swim or just refresh oneself. There is a fluvial beach and a small terrace, perfect to sit, relax and enjoy a drink.

Participants may also relax and enjoy the activities available around the center. Families are most welcome, however, we will not be in a position to provide childcare.

Like every year, the Summer Camp will be accessible to everyone, even to those who do not have a deep knowledge of the Buddhist path and did not attend previous years’ sessions.

All the meals are taken at the main venue, Casa da Torre. The center offers 3 vegetarian meals a day, starting with dinner on August 1st, until lunch on August 7th.

There are two possibilities for accommodation: Casa da Torre, the main venue and Casa Jardim a secondary one. The following prices include everything: accommodation, meals and teachings for the whole duration of Summer Camp.

In order to provide for an extra number of places, we also booked rooms in a secondary venue, Casa Jardim. Some rooms are in suite, others have a common bathroom. Sheets and towels provided. WI-FI access.

It is also possible to attend the teachings without staying at Casa da Torre

The rates for the Summer Camp are fixed: the full week’s rates must be paid even for partial attendance.

The teachings will be given in English. There will be simultaneous translations into French and Portuguese. If you need translation, bring a FM radio.

By plane:

The closest international airport is Porto (OPO). Many low-cost airlines fly to Porto from a great number of places. There will be two buses collecting those who arrive at the airport.

On the 1st August:

The surface Subway (Metro) line is a quick connection between the airport, the city centre and the mains hotels in Porto, with services every 20 minutes. Check metrodoporto.pt
